INVERSION EXCURSION WORKSHOP

Inversions can bring up a lot of fear. Learning how to do them safely and correctly with proper alignment, technique, breath awareness and core strength can transform your fear into empowerment.

The many benefits of inversions include: reversal of blood flow and improved circulation, stimulation of the lymphatic system to move out toxins, they help to both energize and calm the body, improve balance, and increase strength.

No inversion experience is necessary! This is where you come to learn or enhance your inversion practice. All are welcome!

THE ART OF MANUAL ASSISTS

This workshop is for yoga teachers or body workers looking interested in learning or refining how to carefully and properly manually assist students in their yoga practice. Learn the assists to help optimize alignment, enhance energy flow and ensure safety. Manual included. $40. Registration is required. 2 hour CE credits for RYTs

YOGA FOR BACK, NECK & SHOULDER PAIN

Whether you are an athlete, sit at a desk, drive for long periods of time, or spend too much time on your phone, you are bound to experience pain in your back, neck or shoulders at some point. This can also develop into a chronic condition. Repetitive actions out of our natural alignment can create intense pain in these areas of your body and other parts as well. Yoga has always been a therapeutic practice to help us recognize these patterns and shift to more optimal alignment while building healthy patterns and balance of strength and flexibility.

In this workshop, you will learn to enhance your breath and alignment to shift and recognize patterns of pain. Learn the yoga poses that help to strengthen and release tight fascia and muscles in the back, neck and shoulders and help to create more core strength. Therapeutics will be introduced as “yoga to the rescue” tools.

DEEPENING YOUR BACKBENDS

Deepen your backbends without back pain!

Backbends in yoga are both challenging and exhilarating. They are often the most difficult poses in the asana practice but some of the most powerful. They open our hearts, deepen our breath, both strengthen and create flexibility in the back, energize our minds and bodies and release tension in the hips, back, neck and shoulders. In this workshop, we will address the limitations of pain and fear to move towards deeper expansion and our full potential in all levels of our backbends.

Pain Management Workshop With Karen Rider & Per Erez

Now the standard of care for treating pain, yoga offers multiple tools to provide pain relief. According to a report by Harvard Medical School, yoga was more effective in relieving pain than standard medical care. In this six-week workshop, you will learn a series of mind-body practices to relieve pain, including yoga practices and therapeutics, breath, and meditation techniques, Ayurveda self-massage, Tai Chi practices, and more.

  • Week 3: The Pranamaya Kosha: Vital Energy, Introduction to Breathing Techniques
  • Week 4: Manamaya and Vijnanamaya Kosha: Exploring the Mental and Wisdom Bodies
  • Week 5: Anandamaya Kosha: The Bliss body-deepest layer of our Personal Self
  • Week 6: Culmination Practice and Closing Circle
